We are in the process of putting together a non-commercial website relating to the history of 35 Squadron; we do have access to the 1944 ORB's for the squadron and we are awaiting delivery of the 1943 ones, so if you want any specific information, please let me know.

Regards

Pete

Hello, I'm the daughter of Ray Perkins who is in the photo. Dad died suddenly and unexpectedly in 2001 at the age of 80. It's taken me a while to be able to post since finding this site via my cousin last year because it was quite upsetting to find that he kept these things so secret. I had no idea that he carried out such important work during the war as he would only ever speak of the war on very odd occasions, never hinting at what he had actually been doing. It's such a shame that he kept this such a secret. However, after his death I put safely away some things of his war past. I know there was a book on some of his missions and of course his medals, which he dismissed as "everyone got those in the war", never letting on that the DFM was quite something to have. We are about to clear out cupboards and perhaps I can let you know what I find - unfortunately putting stuff away safely usually means that they will be difficult to find!

Regards

Jenny

Jenny,

If I may, one place you might consider donating your father's logbook, medals, etc., is with the Pathfinder Museum at RAF Wyton.  They have a tremendous collection of artifacts including photos, uniforms, logbooks, medals, etc., to tell the history of PFF.  If you're anywhere near Wyton, I highly recommend that you stop in and tour the Museum.  But note that you will need to arrange beforehand for an escort from the Museum staff as Wyton is an active RAF station.

Kind regards,

Patrick

Hi.
I recently got the papers (log etc) medals and uniform of Warrant officer M. Rees (D.F.C) out of the hands of his sons. Halifax Bomber.
I will be glad to hand you details on request if you need them.
I also like to have more information about him and his crew.

Regards, Ruud
