I carried out some detailed research on this airman last year (possibly for another member of your family); if you would like to contact me via the CONTACT page on the No 35 Squadron website (35squadron.wordpress.com/contact/) I will send you what I have.

Regards

PeteT

Hi Philip

I am the son-in-law of F/L John ("Jack") Forde, the pilot of this crew and have done a fair amount of research on them.

Last year I was in contact with Hazel King, daughter of Bill Eyles, and presumably a cousin of yours. She has a lot of information on your uncle Bill including his RAF serviceRecord, flying log book, copies of relevant pages from 35 Sqn Operations Record Book (month summary and detailed operations). I believe she also has the ORB pages for his time in 78 Sqn. Also she has details of the crash on landing (several fatalities) at 78 sqn.

I can email Hazel to tell her of your post. If Pete or Hazel can't give all info to you, I have copies of all except the 78 sqn Orbs and can pass them on to you.

David C.

Dave

I would be interested in any information you have on your father-in-law for inclusion in my No 35 Squadron archive and/or on the website. Please could you contact me via the weblink in my previous post.

Regards

Pete

(Mike: Thanks; I will read through later)
