Can anyone shed some light on the term " GPI run" , as in " some crews reported the GPI run was too short" in regards to an attack on Russelheim in August of '44.

Thanks in advance, Clint.

A summary on GPI runs can be found at

books.google.co.uk/books%20Command%20GPI%20run&f=false

Hope this is of use

Regards

Pete

PS I am not sure if that link works OK but it is on Page 82 (Despatch on War Operations, 23rd February, 1942, to 8th May, 1945) if you can access the book online.
