Can anyone give me any further info on this fellow? He trained with my Dad at the #4 S.F.T.S., and I believe went on to 429 Squadron and was shot down in '44 and became an evader? Can anyone help with details?

Thanks! Clint.

Hi Clint,

J24984 F/O Patrick Graham Agur. Son of Robert Van Allen and Lillian Marie Agur of Yale, BC. Deceased 17 December 2001, Summerland, BC.

Brother of J8631 F/O Robert Jasper Agur of No. 228 Sqn. Lost 13 June 1943.

Wrote a book "Escape" about his adventures in 1999.

Pilot of Halifax MZ302, No. 429 Sqn, lost 28/29 June 1944. Ended up at "Sherwood" (Freteval) Interviewed by MI9 17 August 1944.

Plenty of stories online about the Sherwood evaders. Here's one: www.christopherlong.co.uk/pub/rafes.html

Evasion file at Kew: W0208 3348 316

He's mentioned in a couple of paragraphs in Oliver Clutton-Brock's "RAF Evaders". I'll scan the pages later and email them.

Cheers,

Dave

Hello,

See Patrick Graham Agur's page on our website www.evasioncomete.org

You'll find it under the tab "Fiches" in the alphabetical listing.
