P/O Raymond Krefting

Hello Linda:

I noticed that in the pictures of #419 Squadron, you have a picture of Raymond Krefting, and some of his way record.

Several years ago, I was asked by his Niece (who never knew him) if I could research his war record.  At that time, none of these sources existed, and really all I could find out was that he was winged at #3 S.F.T.S. in Lincoln Park, Calgary, and that he served on 419 and was killed August of 1942.  However, I did find out that he was related to Lord and Lady Krefting of London, England.  So, it was not a complete waste

His niece lives. or lived, in Clearwater, B.C., and I would tell her about this site if I could remember her name.  I'll keep trying!

Hello John. A Neal,

While researching Raymond Marnius Krefting, we came across your reply to Linda. As a apart of a school project a group of students will be travelling to Europe to visit different grave sites of fallen Canadian soldiers. The solider our group is researching is Raymond, which leads us to be very interested in contacting Raymond's niece for more information. Do you perhaps have an email or phone number where we could reach her? Also, we were intrigued by your comment of Raymond's relations to Lord and Lady Krefting of England. Any more information would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

My name is Graham McDermid.  I am a grandnephew of Raymond.  My Aunt, the niece in Clearwater has passed away.  I would be happy to speak with anybody with information about Raymond and also pass along what I know.

Thank you.
