I'll be spending a couple of days in Kew at beginning of May and will be happy to put aside 2 or 3 hours to search for info for others, (Matt - 57Sqdn is 1st on list).
If you have a request I'll see what I can do, but please, no shopping lists
Bob Do they hold any info. on individual airmen at Kew, I know most of the stuff is at Innsworth. I've got a problem with one chap in the crew that I'm researching: Ronald Victor Smith1622514 RAFVR. He was the bomb-aimer in the crew of Lancaster ME453 (PO-L) of 467 squadron RAAF. He and the rest of the crew were KIA on 3 March 1945 on a sortie to the Dortmund-Ems canal (Ladbergen). I have no other details about him: age, place of birth, names of parents etc. Any help possible would be hugely appreciated. Max Williams www.galgos.co.uk
Just a question: Do they have the exact crashlocations of their aircrafts in their files. I would like to know the crashlocation of the Wellington HZ 481 of 432 sqn (see my topic about this one and you'll understand why I'm asking this!) Greetings from Belgium
Alexander

Max, I'm sorry but to the best of my knowledge there are no personal details held at Kew, (I have never seen any), only Innsworth. However I will have a look at the squadron records and see if there is anything that can be added to what you have.
There's nothing much in the ORBs Bob, apart from posting-in and listing on sorties, the crew only did 3 before they were lost. I'm stumped on Ronnie Smith I'm afraid!!

Bob, anything you can find would be a great help and more than I currently have. Let me know if you ever need anything from Canada.

I'm not sure that they do have exact crash sites filed. If anyone can advise where to look - a reference number - I'll certainly try.
