I've a friend who will conduct a search at the (possible) crash site of Halifax LK894 soon. The Halifax was shot down by Oblt Heinz Strüning from 3./NJG 1 on the 30/31 of August 1943 and crashed near kessenich, Belgium He would like to find some extra information about the crewmembers and would also like to get in touch with next of kin. Crew comprised of: F/s F H Leaver / Kia (RCAF) Sgt F A Bartlett / Kia Sgt J A Box / Kia Sgt C S Burgess / Kia Sgt L W Kerr / Kia (RCAF) P/O M W Howard / Kia ( RCAF) Sgt S G Young / Kia ( RCAF) Sgt L C Patrick / Kia ( RCAF) Crew was first buried on the Allied cemetery of Brustem air base (Saint-Trond, Belgium) on the 02 of September 1943. They were transfered to Heverlee War Cemetery after the war.
