Obtaining Service Records
Permalink

Some time ago I saw a posting on our forum where somone was asking about obtaining service records. I've forgotten the reply now and can't remember who had the posting. I'm trying to get the service records of an infantryman that served with the Manitoba Infantry Regiment and was killed very nearly at war's end when he stepped on a mine. Could anyone help with an address to contact regarding this. Thanks as always for your help.

Hi William,

You can obtain service records from The National Archives in Kew, England.

Their email is nationalarchives@ionmx.com

If your after any details relating to Bomber Command losses, accidents, etc.     I can help you. I have all 9 volumes of Chorleys RAF Bomber Command Losses 1939-45.

Regards,
John

Hi John, Thanks for your reply and offer to access Chorleys via yourself.
I guess I should have been a bit more specific in my request, I was looking for an address here in Canada where service records are held, this is for a relative and the man in question was her uncle. Thanks again.
Bill
