Lancaster & the 8000lb bomb
Permalink

Hi,

Is there a manufacture serial range for the Lancaster modified to take the 8000lb & 12000lb BLAST bomb. I do not mean the aircraft used by 617 & 9 Sqdn.

Was there a block of Lanc's off the production line with the enlarge bomb-bay. ?

Regards

Steve

Steve. The early KB series, Lancaster X was capable of carrying an 8,000 lb along with all Lancaster II's, DS and LL serials.

Hi Steve,

This question has just been listed on the 'Lancaster-archive' forum. Their several decent answers been posted. Hence, myself not copying & posting them here.
