As another year has gone by, there has been many great topics and answers provided.
I would like to take this opportunity to say a special thanks to the ex-crew members that grace this forum. Taken a step further, many thanks to people like John A Neal, 'Pidgeonbird' not only for his wealth of knowledge from his actual experiences that he has amazed us with, but thanks once again to your and your fellow crew member efforts in achieving what you did.
Although many may have left us over the past year, you have never been forgotten, nor will you ever will be.
Just to echo the words expressed by John and to say how pleased I am to have the privilege of being able to research for this site and to see the site grow.
Also a big thankyou to all veterans and also to their families, many of whom I keep in regular contact with .
It has been nice to re unite several ex aircrew, widows etc also and to hear their memories.
Wow, what accolades I have received from other writers on this site; I am truly humbled by them. I do not hold a "wealth of knowledge" about what went on during the airwar, only my little part in it. And this only happened between Jan. 11/44 and Apr. 22/44 when I became an evader (more time hiding out than flying out). And of course, my share of chasing the Ladies.
I wrote it all up in my book "The Lucky Pigeon" and I still have some 40 to.45 copies still for sale. Get the real lowdown on an Airman's waltz through World War 11.
Sorry it couldn't be Waltzing Matilda. Hadn't met her yet!
Thank you Matt, and if this is to be the last year, may we all slide in sideways, pint of bitters held high, and shouting "Wasn't that some awesome flight?"
