Lancaster identity?

I have been sent this photo and wondered if anyone can help identify it ?
I realise that it isn't that clear but there is a nose-art outline and the bomb tally under the ****pit canopy looks as if it only completed 5 ops. when the photo was taken.

Hi Linda,

I take it thats the only photo you have of the Lanc. Is there any other details of squadron, operation, crew, dates, etc? Is that a Letter 'K' or 'Y' at the front there?

I tried enlargening the photo but it just went too blurry. I'm thinking it may be early 44 or before. There doesn't seem to be any markings on the rear fins, etc, ie: the signage / markings on aircraft became more pronounced over the last year of the war, VE Day markings, etc.

Its either a MK1 or Mk111, depending on whether it had Rolls Royce Merlin engines or Packard Merlin engines.

I wish I could tell you more.
Regards,
John

Hi John,
Thanks for taking a look.
I am as "in the dark" as you regarding info on this plane and despite also enlarging it,can find no clues either!

This Lanc seems to have an H2S radar antenna on the underside which would likely date it from the end of July 43 on and it is probably from a Pathfinder Squadron.
