I have just returned from planting a tree at Wickenby Airfield.
The reason for this is two fold.
Firstly it is as a memorial to my father and all the crew of Lancaster ED995 who flew from Wickenby with 12 squadron in the summer of 1943.(see www.raf-bombercommand.co.uk)
Secondly the purchase of the tree helped towards the running cost of the wonderful museum run by volunteers in the old control tower.
