I have just read your posting  so  have just been reading up about  Squadron Leader
Curtis and what a man-he apparently flew 139 ops?

Including time in 44 squadron and 109 squadron.

Amazing!!

Sad news to hear Ron Curtis has died. Curtis and his Pilot , S/L John Burt flew 104 operations with 109 Squadron and his total of 139 was the 2nd highest in the squadron behind S/L E.R. Benson who  completed 145. He survived at least one crash on July 20, 1944 when he & Burt went down with a full load of target indicators onboard while taking off to do Oboe marking for the main force on Homberg. Remarkably neither was injured. He also made an appearance in the TV documentary on Oboe called "The Birth of the Smart Bomber".
