Does anyone have any information on the loss of Dick French on a raid over Berlin on 4th september 1943. He is/was a distant cousin of mine and came from New Zealand.

I understand from "Lost Bombers" that there was one survivor Flight Sargent B.E. Thighe who was interned in Camp 4B POW # 222846.

Hi Tony,

You probably have seen the link below regarding Flt. French.

Thank you for that reference. No I had not seen it but the info is pretty much the same as the CWGC entry. His relatives still live in the Fielding area but they probably know little too. The survivor would have been the lnk but he may well have perished in the POW camp. I have tried searching on his name but to no avail.

Tony.
