I have established that my late father was posted to No 47 group from serving as a w/op with 35 squadron(RAF Graveley ). It would appear that he was then a signals briefing officer at RAF Hendon where No 46 and 47 groups were part of Transport Command administering several outlying squadrons. My mother recalls him being involved with monitoring VIP flights so possibly involved with No 24 squadron and the Metropolitan Communication Flight-both of which operated as VIP flights. Does anyone have any more idea of what went on at Hendon in early 1946, particularly with VIP flights and signals.
I wait in anticipation, as this accounts for the last days of my fathers service before discharge in August 1946. Thank you all.
