Hello everyone. 

I have been asked by a friend to research her late Great Uncle:

Name: HAYWOOD, RONALD
Initials: R
Nationality: United Kingdom
Rank: Warrant Officer (W. Op./Air Gnr.)
Regiment/Service: Royal Air Force
Unit Text: 7 Sqdn.
Age: 23
Date of Death: 14/01/1944
Service No: 649966
Awards: C G M
Additional information: Son of Joseph and Eliza Haywood, of Rawnsley, Staffordshire.
Casualty Type: Commonwealth War Dead
Grave/Memorial Reference: 4. D. 6.
Cemetery: HANOVER WAR CEMETERY

This lead me to your website whereupon I found a great set of pictures HERE.

I have forwarded these images to the family and they are overjoyed as they did not have any photographs of him.

The family have asked whether they are able to get hold of the original letters from the palace or any other documents relating to WO Hayood CGM?

Do any or your member know how I can facilitate this?

Thanks for your response. I have passed on your details to the person whom I have been researching for. She has confirmed that the person you mentioned is her second cousin. She may drop you a line.

Thanks for your assistance. This poor girl has been looking for the past 4 years but kept hitting a brick wall. I have forwarded on all the information from this site and she is overjoyed.
