Mosquito Crew - Can you Identify
Permalink

Hello,

I recently came into possession of a an original WW2 era crew photo. It is a Mosquito crew by their plane, 'Lady Luck'. Both crew appear to be wearing DFC ribbons and the pilot is Canadian - wearing Canada shoulder flashes.

I have been surfing the net attempting to identify these men but have had no luck. The back of the photo has in pencil, UK17472.

Thanks if you can assist and steer me in the right direction.
The photo came to me from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Not sure if one of these two lived there, or it came from either's family.

Thanks,
Dave.

418 Sdn RCAF had a Mosquito named "Lady Luck", NT137, TH-T. Usual crew was pilot Jack H. Phillips, DFC, RCAF and navigator F/O Bernard M. Job, RAFVR. The aircraft was with the squadron from late 1944 up to disbandment in September 1945.

Thanks Bill,

My searches didn't bring up your sight, I never even thought to check there.  I'll start with that and see where I can go with it. I'll try and contact Russ Bannock - he may recall these gentlemen for sure.
Thanks.
Dave

Dave,
From a recent picture of Jack Phillips i've found, it looks like he's your man. If you can let me have your email address via my whiteboard, i'll send it on.
