After one year preparing and hard work my project is practically completed, so it can be started now. Lostaircraft is a website about the casualties of aircrafts in the second World War. The core of this is a massive database which is easy to use. Everybody can add his known information and discuss with other community members about it. The period of the casualties of aircrafts is restricted from year 1935 to 1945. About all seats of war and parts of the air forces in the second World War can be discussed.
Lostaircraft is a private financed projekt, but the registration und using is free and it will be free for ever. It would give me great pleasure when you can provide this project and when you forward this message to another historians and interested people.
With best regards from Germany, Steffen Reibert

Hi All, This is a great website that Steffan has put together and it is well worth adding to your "Favorites" in time it will be a fantastic resource for gaining aircraft information and adding your own historical information. Best of luck, Gary
I have used the lostaircraft web site many times as a prime source of information.
I now find that I can no longer access it as a username and password is requested, nut no indication of how to register. The authentication would appear to be fom the database host, not the compilers of the useful research tool.
Can anyone throw any light on what has happened and a solution.
I can't log in with a username/PW that use to work on the site. Something is definitely wrong on the server end. Hopefully they will get it fixed soon. Does anyone know how to contact Steffen Reibert to let him know this is a problem?
Has anyone heard anything from Steffan as to what has happened to the site. Cant even find the website now.
This is a really sad loss if the site has disappeared altogether. I know it was privately funded so maybe this could be the cause.
There was a donate page but sadly not many of us donated.
Any help appreciated.
When I use the link provided I get a trequest for authentication that asks for user name and password. If you cancel this you get an error 401 message.
No opportunity to register a new user name. Any suggestions, 'printable', welcome.
Paul

I have Steffan's email address as I translated his user guide to English, but he's not responded to it in my attempt to find out what happened to his great database site
