From my late fathers service records (in reverse order )shows Flt /lt G E Herod 1245754.

I know he was living in North West London in late 45 and 46. I am told he was at Hendon, being collected by car in morning but making his own way home in the evening. I presume T.C. was transport command. Where were 45 and 47 group hqs at that time and what were they doing. What is signals briefing'. Are the last two digits of the numeric reference the group or squadron being posted from or to?
I hope someone may have an insight into the service records jargon, or know a little of 46/47 groups etc.
