Wonder if anyone can help me find photo's of 78 Squadron personnel and aircraft circa January 1944; a relative (Flight Sergerant HH Benett) was the Wireless Operator aboard that aircraft (LW-291) and was the sole survivor when it was shot down on 21/01/44.  Blown clear of the wreckage, he managed to operate his parachute was subsequently captured and interned in Thorne (Camp 357) Poland, escaped and was released by the advancing American forces.  I would love to hear from anyone who served with him and/or may have photos of him or even that particular aircraft - its a longshot I know but like many I am trying to piece together some invaluable family history.
