Hello I am new on here, hoping someone has some info for me.
Sgt Herbert Taylor was in 218 squadron and he was killed on 24 August 1943.
Age 25, I would like to know the circumstances if possible, as I was never told.
Yes, we were related, he was my dads brother. Thanks!
218sqdn Short Stirling BF522, HA-N, took off from Downham Market 20.40hrs for ops to Berlin. Crashed into the sea off Denmark.

All killed, Sgt Robson buried in Esbjerg Cemetery, and Sgt McArthur buried in Lemvig Cemetery. The rest are commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial.

KIA Aug. 24/43 aged 23. #218 Gold Coast Squadron (Motto-In Time) The crew of Stirling bomber BF 522 transmitted an S.O.S. - location unknown. Six others of the crew (not Canadians) missing - presumed killed. Presumed enemy action.
P/O Martin has no known grave - his name is inscribed on the Runnymede War Memorial, Englefield Green, Egham, Surrey, England.
