On the 22nd June 1943 an 158 Sqdn Halifax HR735 was intercepted over Berlicum/Den Bosch area when it was underway to a target at Krefeld. The aircraft was shotdown and crashed on a farmland at Kaathoven/Berlicum which took the lives of eight young airmen. Three of these airmen are still missing and are commemorated at the panels of the Runny Mede memorial at London,Kew. The other crewmembers are buried at Uden British War Cemetery, and Bergen op Zoom War Cemetery.  On the 22nd June we will unveil a memorial to remember this crew(and the crew of Halifax DK141, crashed 23rd June 1943  almost on the same spot). Also the crew family attending. I still busy to track down the relatives of 2nd Pilot Sgt E.H.Fisher, Flight Engineer Sgt S.G.B.Hayes, Wop  H.F.Barham , Bombaimer Sgt W.T.Dunning, and Pilot P/O  C.H.Robinson DFC (RNZAF).

Thanks

Adrian van Zantvoort
