I am very keen to find any information about the last few days of John Miller Bliss who was shot down (I assume )just East of Paris on the 18th of November in 1943 .I believe that his squadron was No 15 and I know that the whole crew (of his Stirling bomber ?) are buried in a municipal cemetery in Suippes. It is just possible that some of his fellow flyers are still alive....

Good Morning Charlie,

This is a bit of a long shot as I came across your interest in John Miller Bliss just the other day but believe it was first posted a couple of years back. John Miller Bliss was my Dad's cousin. The families originated from Chedworth in Gloucestershire where JMB's father was a railway engine driver on the Great Western. The two families remained very close when they moved to London and in fact the family address in Kersley Street, Battersea is listed on my Father's birth certificate as his place of birth then, just before the outbreak of WW2, their address in Epsom is also the one mentioned on my Dad's marriage certificate.

Would you mind me asking how come you have singled out JMB as the only crew member you are enquiring about? Do you yourself have any connection and, although it was a long shot, did your posting produce any further information?

Hope this reaches you as your email address may have changed - in fact a lot can change over two years - but hope very much to hear from you with any information you may have.
