Hello there,

It seems your Grandfather flew all his ops with the same crew.

The crew arrived on 75 (NZ) squadron on 20 October 1944.

They flew their first operation together on 29 October 1944 to West Kapelle.

Pilot: Plt/Off D. Sadgrove

Flight Engineer: Sgt D. Mahoney

Navigator: Sgt R. Dixon

Air Bomber: Sgt D. Stimpson

Wireless Operator: Flt/Sgt F. Fleming

Mid Upper Gunner: Flt/Sgt R. Bawden

Rear Gunner: Sgt D. Dallimore

I'll see what else I can find for you.

Regards,

Wayne.

Hello there,

I was wondering if there was a list of aircrew who flew in the Lancasters with my Grandfather Douglas Dallimore W/O, he was a rear tail gunner and survived the war. I have some pictures of him and his crew in front of the plane with AA visible.

Shot in the dark, I guess. thank You

Hi there, I'm also interested in 75 (NZ) Sqdn around the time your Grandfather was at Mepal - the Sadgrove crew appears regularly on op's that my uncle flew on - he was a Wireless Operator (WOp/Ag) in the Wood crew, C Flight.

Wayne is one of the 75 gurus, but also suggest you have a look at joining 75 Sqdn Assn (www.75squadron-raf-rnzaf.com and http://www.facebook.com/groups/213227175365096/) and visiting Simon's great new site at http://75nzsquadron.com.

I may also be able to help if you have specific questions.

Any photos you can post would be great!

Cheers, Chris

P.S. Would also highly recommend two books written about 75 and Mepal during the time your Grandfather was there,  by a Pilot and Navigator respectively,  Luck and a Lancaster, by Harry Yates DFC, and Bombs on Target, by Ron Mayhil DFC. Yates' book mentions Doug Sadgrove in a couple of places.
