Hi All

I am searching for information about my uncle and any other member of his crew who were all killed over Germany 21st April 1944 in Lancaster ND785 flying out of RAF Grimsby ( Waltham ).

His name was Sgt. ( Navigator ) Edgar Usher, 28,  he was from Bootle Liverpool and my mothers only sibling.

His crew were

Pilot - F/L J H Inns

Flight Engineer - Sgt C C Davies

Air Bomber F/O G C Tincler

Wireless Operator - Sgt. K Pearton

Mid Upper Gunner - F/O F J Blute DFM

Rear Gunner - Sgt. H F G Flint

I would love to find a crew photo as I dont have any picture of him, my mother must have disposed of them all I think.

I have infomation about the mission and where they are buried but would like to contact any other member of a crew family or get any information at all possible

Bob

Hi Bob,

I can't help with a photo, according to Choley's book the aircraft was seen to blow up in the air and scatter over a wide area, most probalby a direct flak hit.

Regards,

John.

Hi Bob,

the link below has information regarding the rear gunner Frederick John Blute who previously served with 12 Squadron and survived a crash in a Wellington during 1942.

The second link has details regarding the loss of Lancaster ND785.
