I am researching the Halifax HR876 of 35 Sq. and its crew. It seems hard to find photos of the Halifaxes they flew, so I would like to ask you if anyone of you has photos of one of the following aircrafts:
HR876 of 35 Sq.
DT786 of 10 Sq. JD200 of 10 Sq. HR691 of 10 Sq. JB899 of 10 Sq.
or one of the aircrafts which have been of the same batch as HR876. These were: Serial Range HR832 - HR880. 49 Halifax Mk.11. Part of a batch of 250 HP59 Halifax Mk.11. HR654; HR699; HR711- HR758; HR773-HR819; HR832-HR880; HR905-HR952; HR977-HR988
I have a photo of HR738 that went to 158 Sqn and was lost on a Berlin raid on the night of 31 Aug/1 Sept 1943, it was on it's 32 operation. If you would like to contact me off board on
harleyDOT158ATbigpondDOTcom I'll be happy to send you the photo. Just replace the DOT and AT with the usual.
My Dad was tail gunner on JD200 on Peenemunde Raid. A source for picture MAY be Melboune Ten by Brian J Rapier. Unobtainable but some copies in libraries. If you have any relevant data I would be grateful for a reply.i have Martin Midlebrook's book & also the Haliax book.
