I thought you might be interested in this bomber tale.
Fraser Muir ( age 90) contacted us at the Hamilton Military Museum in Ontario to seek help in finding relatives of a former comrade (John McLea, Squadron 426) that died in a gunner mission in WWII.
I was able to track down the nephew of the fallen, turns out he was named after his uncle and is now a pilot also, and flies the Lancaster at the Hamilton Military Museum.
We are holding a dedication ceremony on May 25th for John McLea, at the Warplane Heritage Museum and this will also give a chance for Fraser to finally meet the family of his fallen friend. Are you aware of any veterans in the Ontario area that would be interested in attending our open get together? Or other groups I should contact?
Thank you, Brydie Huffman, Hamilton Military Museum, 905-515-5493
