For many years I have tried unsuccessly to trace information about my father Sgt Navigator Peter Murray from Buckie in Scotland who died on the night of 2/3 January 1944 - believed to have bombed Berlin and lost whilst returning to RAF Kirmington

I still haven't found a photograph of my father who died five months before I was born.

Please can anyone tell me if RAF Service Records contained ID Photo's in 1944, if yes where could I obtain a copy ?  RAF Service Number 658837

I am also searching for a photo of  166 Squadron LANCASTER MK1  AS-H2 W4780

Many thanks -nick.murray123@btinternet.com

Hi Nick,

I'll be sending you a "zip" file, which you can download and extract files from, concerning your father's crew. No photo available at this time.
