I am new to this site so please forgive any clumsiness or lack of clarity!  

My father Flying Officer J.W.Lynes, was lost over Holland together with the crew of Lancaster ED347 on 20th December 1942.  He, and they are buried in a Protestant cemetery in Oosterhout Noor Brabant.   I am in close contact with a Dutch archivist and have just returned from Holland after visiting my father's grave.  My archivist friend has done a lot of research into this, and the other air crashes that occurred in this area with a view to writing a book about these events.   To date he/we have managed to make contact with four (including me) of the airmen's family members, but are still searching for the remaining three.  They are Sgt J. Sykes, Sgt H. B .Stokes and  Sgt J. Hill.   If anyone has any knowledge of these airmen or their families, I would love to hear from them .

About attempting to make contact with relatives of the air crew, have had some success recently with

I will do as you suggest and see what I can discover. it would be really nice to make contact with the families of the remaining three and to include them in the research that has been done. Obviously they would have to be in agreement with this, but it would complete the story so to speak. If I discover uncover any history, I will let you know. Again Thanks.

My great-uncle Harold Stokes was killed in Bomber Command. I suspect he's the same man, although I don't know many details. Are you still interested?

Good news! I have made contact with Harold Stokes G'Nephew, how fantastic is that?!!! I now only need to contact two more and I will have found the whole crew. They are Sgt John Sykes who was 30 and came from Bradford, and Sgt James Hill also 30. He was the husband of Norah and came from Manchester. If anyone can help me to make contact with the families of these two brave men, I would be very grateful.
