My father Sgt; Stanley Herbert Mackey was shot down over Stuttgart on 12th Sept; 1944 he was rear gunner and all the crew except 1 killed in action. I have his records etc but only 1 photo; he is buried in Durnbach cemetery Germany, my mother who is now 92 has visited and i have pictures of the grave etc; his flight No was PD267 EM-G, any info; would be gratefully received.

Already spoken to Frank, we have supplied more info to his site, and info to the Kirkby site, we visited Spilsby and Kirkby with my mother and we went on their Lanc:, what we are after are pics that other relations of any 207 activities etc;.
It was, as far as I know, the heaviest conventional explosive bomb carried by any aircraft though I believe the USAAF modified a B-29 Superfortress to carry 2 of them underwing in test drops shortly after VE day. The Lancaster was the only ETO aircraft capable of hoisting the Grandslam and even it struggled to obtain the designed drop altitude for optimal effectiveness.
