My great uncle flight sergeant jack lee served at wichford in 1944 and sadly lost is life and crew members on 6-10-1944. On a mission to Dortmund, I would be very grateful if anyone knew my great uncle could share there memories of him,we know very little about is operational career.He died aged 23 Not knowing he was going to be a dad,any information would be gratefully received.Many thanks.
There are no claims by a German night fighter which match your uncle's Lancaster. In fact no German night fighter made a claim on the force attacking Dortmund. Only five bombers were lost from this attacking force and flak claiming at least four. Most likely your uncle's aircraft was one of these.
