Hi,

I'm looking for possible information from the book regarding Halifax BB365 and Flight Sergeant K.A Heaton on either of the following dates,

27/28 August 1943
24th February 1944

Regards,
MikeH

Nothing for 1943, Mike.

24 Feb 1944 Halifax II BB365 1662 HCU

Only crew listed is Sgt LV Honor. T/o 1725 Blyton for a cross country exercise, at night. Problems with the inner port engine obliged the crew to return to base, approaching the runway with the engine in coarse pitch but before reaching the airfield, the starboard inner failed and a wheels up landing was skillfully executed at 2245. Sgt Honor's commanding officer considered the young non commissioned officer made the correct decision for, in his opinion, had he tried to go round again with the wheels down fatalities might well have been the consequence.

Regards,

Dave
