I'm researching my Granddad George Clarke Flight Engineer and his time in the squadron.
We have a few photo's, his flight log and his memoirs he had printed with stories of his time in 298.
I am looking for anymore info on his crew. I believe I have found his pilot 'Lofty' Edward Seekings on here and just waiting confirmation that it is the same person.
I only have his crews nicknames and first names. They were all put together at 1663 HCU RAF Rufforth and remained together at Tarrant Rushton and then when they were sent to India.
It seems that they stayed together until Nov 7 1945 when another pilot took over.
If anyone has any info or stories about his crew that would be fantastic.
I have made a page on Facebook about his time in the squadron, WW2 RAF 298 Squadron.
His crew in India. Left to right: Lofty the Pilot, George my Grandad Flight Engineer, Sam 2nd Pilot, Wilf Wireless Operator, Charlie Navigator and Brian Bomb Aimer.
Many thanks for posting the photo that is definately Lofty Seekings crew. In my original post I was looking for information regarding Edward Seekings, for a gentleman named Wilf Breward, the W/Op in the crew. Wilf lived a couple of miles away from me in Nottingham, but sadly passed away about a year ago.
Regards,
Mike Harrison

Whilst having a clear out at home I've come across a black and white picture of the following badge that I believe may relate to the squadron. Can any help identify its origins please
