Hi,

I'm trying to trace information of my uncle (above) who I believe was shot down, possibly on a bombing raid to Hamburg. Any information appreciated

Hello,

Bad night for No. 115 Squadron. 3 aircraft, 21 men. Target was Hamburg, part of Operation Gomorrah.

He appears to have been the rear gunner on Lancaster DS685. T/o 2342 hrs East Wretham. Lost without trace.

Hi,

I cannot find any night fighter claim for DS685.

 

Can anyone confirm that Lancaster DS685 KO-A (115 Sqn) was fitted with bristol hercules engines?
