I am trying to get more information on my Grandfathers service history, his squadron was 166, he served during 2nd WW, as a navigator , P/N 145394, name John D Stent. he was awarded the DFC and I understand one of his closest friends during his service was called Mackie.
I would love to find more information on his character and where he was stationed.
I have inherited all his service records i.e. flight logs, copies of leaflets dropped, newspaper cuttings, his medal , and other information relating to their service history but it is all impersonal, and there are no photos.
Can you offer any help ?
I would be happy to share any of the logs or flight info I have with any one else that was in his crew if they are interested.
Hello again. Jack Stent's pilot was Roderick Mackie, also DFC. Mackie was on his second tour of operations. Your Grandfather flew Wellington and Lancaster aircraft on 166 squadron. As I say email me if you wish on mjc41uk@yahoo.co.uk. Cheers, B.
Hi, that is my correct email. Type it into your email provider, don't use the wizard. I have more info about your Grandfather. Cheers, B (mjc41uk@yahoo.co.uk)
