Absolutely brilliant clips, really sums up the stress ,fear and claustrophobia for the aircrews. It is called "Night Flight",written by William Ivory whose father was a navigator on Lancasters.Filmed at East Kirkby and featuring "Just Jane" and Lanc.PA 474 from the Battle of Britain memorial flight,it was transmitted on BBC 1 television channel in 2002.It is a story about two old veterans and they look back over their time as aircrew.Hopefully,it will be repeated at some stage as i missed it first time around!
I wondering if you happen to have the names of the two gentlemen that recall their time in service, as you have mention.
I know my fathers flight engineer, Harry Parkins, (who has put together the operations listing and short stories on the above mentioned site) was talking to some media about their time in service.
I welcome any details that you may be able to past on, thanks.
Hi John, I believe that the 2 veteran's weren't real veterans(they are played by Christopher Plummer & Edward Woodward) and it was a story about a mythical crew, with these two actors playing the veterans and reminiscing.I can't be a hundred percent certain K for Kitty site is a great site by the way!!
