Can anyone tell me more about a Tony/Anthony Slugoski RCAF & any of the other 2 men in this photo?
I beleive that they were from Saskatchewan
I beleive that the Tony Slugoski's brother Joseph was k.i.a. as it is an unusual surname
From what i have picked up on Google, there is a Anthony Slugoski on the Saskatchewan Hall of Fame, who enlisted in 1942, also one mentioned in a 2005 online edition (issue 14)of the Windsor Flying Club -The Windicator(as  instructor)who went on to start the Saskatchewan Air Cadet Programme. He also was an instructor at Moose Jaw.
It could be just some one with the same name, but as it is quite an unusual name, maybe  the Canadians out there have come across him and can tell me more about him,or maybe he taught them to fly,or the other 2 in the same photo taken at Fraserburgh in WW2
Many thanks

Hi Linda,

Tony Slugoski is actually my grandfather. He currently lives in Saskatoon and is father to two daughters and a son. A couple of years ago, he was the oldest person flying in Saskatchewan but due to ailing health has not been able to fly for some time now.

I dont know much about his time in the war and Ive never seen this photo.

thanks

Arran L.

Hi-Thanks for responding!
The photo was sent to me by a Bob (Robert) Stringer RAAF,ex pilot, 460 Squadron, who  sailed to or from England with him.
I am just getting over eye surgery but will let Bob know that you have contacted.
If you have any more info on your Grandads Squadron i would be interested

Sorry for this unrelated post but am hoping Linda Ibrom could contact me at my home e-mail address. (roful@sympatico.ca)  I've some additional "stuff" for her but unfortunately lost a lot of items including her e-mail addresss when my computer got wiped out thanks to a Vista glitch.  Am up and functioning again now and hope Linda is recovering nicely post her procedure.

Tx.  Bob

Tony was also the Chief Flying Instructor when I was at the Air Cadet Gliding School in Rivers (1982/1983). I last saw him in 1999, during a mess dinner at the RCAF Association building in Saskatoon put on for Prairie Region Gliding School instructors. Tony was the guest speaker and I had the pleasure of doing the toast for him. He played a pioneering role in the creation of local air cadet gliding zones (or gliding centres as they are called now) in Saskatchewan, as I recall.
