Whatever happened to Waltzing Matilda, a halifax that was purchased and flown to Australia after the war, is she stashed away in a barn, was she scrapped, come on guys we must have one flyable Halibag somewhare.
On it's way to Australia, the Halifax landed at a cove in Nova Scotia on the east coast of Canada. The people liked it so much they took it as a souvenir, and named a city after it.
As a proud Aussie and someone who spends any spare time researching Bomber Command topics, I can assure you that this is the very first I know of this aircraft. Wish it was here !

I have the letter from the co Pilot of Waltzing Matilda written the day after they got to sydney with her description of the trip, also her later much enlarged and typed story by Audrey Morgan.
I wanted to come too but did not have 300 pounds. So I had to wait to 1958 to get to Australia.
