Thank you Matt, and it looks to be a very good affair. For anybody who was #419 Wartime, we will be specially honoured (and probably well attended by Medical staff). If you are in the Calgary region, the Squadron is either flying you up, or bussing you. They also have special lodging for us. They can get more details from Stefan Guevremont at sguevrem@ucalgary.ca.
#419 has the wartime photo archives, and that is what I want to see.
What wartime photo archive are you speaking about John ? I would also love to see it as my uncle was a F/E with 419 in 1943 on "Thundering Heard" and "Have Another"

Mr Goon: Mr. Vince Elmer, a former Electrical Mechanic on the Squadron in England, was the unofficial archiver and accumulated quite as number of photos and other souvenirs. The Groundcrew members formed their own group and held almost yearly reunions at which Vince showed his scrapbooks. I attended one reunion and saw the books.
Vince lives, or lived, in Prince Albert, Sask., and several years ago gave these books to the #419 Squadron for safekeeping. I'm not sure if Vince is still living or if the archives are still in Cold Lake. But, I hope they are.
I hope they are John I wonder if you could ask and see if there is any possibility of the archive going on their website for all us 419 fans to enjoy. I for one would love to see the contents! Enjoy your reunion John you deserve it.
best regards
Terry

Thanks Terry; I never thought they might have put the archives on the net. I will ask them. There is a large Mess Dinner taking place on April 3rd at the Calgary Aerospace Museum and apparently nearly all the Brass from Cold Lake will attend. This query gives me incentive to accept the invitation to the dinner. I hesitate to drive in the dark otherwise.
Hi, in your posting you mention a website, I assume it is to do with 419 Sqdn. May I ask what the website address is that I may see it. My uncle Bill Longmore was a member of 419 Sqdn. He was a mid upper gunner on board VR-F KB755 and was killed over France 7/8th August 1944. Thank you in advance. Bill Longmore
Just received the call today from Cold Lake, and the reunion of #419 Squadron has been postponed. Seems the economy is keeping too many away. Guess I am going to have to go up there myself if I wish to see the archives.
John
