Photo's 625 Sqn
Permalink

My brother in law's father was groundcrew with 625 Sqn from 1943 onwards and he has six pics taken during the war of the Lancaster he worked on , C for Charlie, it's ground crew and the air crew.
I have most of the names But just wondered if anyone can add anything at all about the Lancaster ( on one of the pics you can make out the last three numbers of its serial number) or recognise anyone in the pictures. Anything at all will be welcome. If anyone needs copys of the pictures just ask

Thanks

Hi Terry,
Great Photo's !
The first photo is in my book "Lancaster Squadrons in Focus" by Mark Postlethwaite (he also runs the ww2 images site)

On page 87 of the book for 625 squadron, the photo caption reads-

"An unidentified crew pose with PB 736 at a chilly looking Kelstern, winter 1944/45.The fur lied boots being extremely useful on days like this"

Yes,wouldn't mind copies of the photo's to see if i can match up any of the faces.

You might try posting on Nic Lewis' site www.625squadron.org.
