In my late fathers  logbook there is mention of frequency check by back tuning
Can anyone assist with its meaning. I think it may have been a method of calibrating a receiver by tuning on a powerful known source-say Home radio 200 mcs- then slowly tuning off of that to find the station you were looking for, perhaps a simplistic explanation.
He was training as a w/op.at No. 4 radio school.
