Hello to all , New to Forum so please bear with me. My father in Law was George BRADBURN . 35th Squadron Bomber Command, Pathfinder.
He took off as Pilot in a Lancaster Bomber ND702 TL-G from RAF Graveley on the first daylight raid on Gelsenkirchen at 1640 on Sept 11th 1944. They met very heavy flak but managed to drop their bombs and were returning when they were hit . 2 Crew members managed to get out and became POWs the rest of the crew were not so fortunate and lost their lives.
The crew members were Flt Sgt D Lambert 1494741 Navigator , POW Flt Sgt J White 15620242 Air bomber, Died Flt Sgt A T Britchford 1098212 Wireless Op, Died Sgt P J Feakin 147338 Mid gunner Died Flt Sgt R Rhodes 1831040 Tail Gunner POW Sgt D S Prior 1819099 Flt Engineer Died

I have a copy of his movements from post to post but don't understand the information in the unit column . looks like he was assigned to 20 different units from 1941 - 1944 , including USANAS(A) and Canada , Bridgenorth and ? Battle School.
Thank you , I have details of what happened from the surviving members of the Crew who wrote to my Mother in law as soon as they were released from the prison camps.
I'm a Vicar in Hyde in Manchester and have just been contacted by the widow of Fl/Sgt Lambert who has some information about George Bradburn and would like to pass it on to his family. Can you ring me on 0161 368 1489? I'm the Vicar of St Mary's Church in Newton, where George is commemorated on the War Memorial.
I have a copy of the ORB for that day if you are interested. My late father, a w/op with 35 squadron, flew on the morning of the 11/9/44-take off 6.18.
I have a copy of a photo "Randy Rhodes M/U/G 35 Sqdn" which was in an album belonging to 1800824 Albert E."Teddy" Smith who flew 48 sorties as a rear gunner with 35 Squadron and was awarded the DFM 21/09/1944.
Please let me know if you or anyone else would like a copy.
Also if anyone has info/photo of Teddy, I would be plesed to hear from you.
