Lloyd William Wright, D.F.C., C.D. passed away peacefully at home on May 11, 2010 in his 87th year.   Lloyd served as a Halifax Bomber Pilot with RCAF No. 424 Tiger Squadron of No. 6 Group.  Lloyd's dedication, effort and enthusiasm in the restoration of the Halifax Bomber housed on display at the National Air Force Museum in Trenton, Ontario has created a lasting legacy to those who served for every future generation.  Everyone who ever crossed paths with this kind and generous man will have fond recollections of thier encounter.  Condolences and symapthies to Joan his wife and family.

As well today,  it was with another real sense of loss to be informed of the death of Canadian Soldier Pte. K.T. McKay of the Princess Pats, the son of a Fire Captain with whom I am well acquainted on Toronto Fire Services,  KIA while on patrol in Afghanistan two days short of his Tour of Duty completion.   The McKay Family will be experiencing the sense of loss so many families did and have during the course of two World Wars and the many other Peace Keeping operations to which Canada contributes it's Forces personnel.  

From the sacrifices of these special people who serve or have served we all owe a debt that can never be paid in full.  Lest We Forget.
