My Mother in Law would had a cousin who was in Bomber Command during the way. we have no idea as to what he flew, but we do know that he was lost just after the way in aplane crash and is buried in a cemetary in Bath, Avon. His name was Gerald Yeates, his parents names were Eddie & Millie Yeates and they all came from Walton on Thames, Surrey. Gerald (nick name Beeny) was married & had a daughter who we think was named Shelagh, but I'm afraid this is all we know, if any one can help with any info, it would be much appreciated . When a bomber crew is mentioned, in what order is it writen down as, does the pilot come first, if so, who would come next?
Hi Richard, Gerald Yeates was in Coastal Command during the war, he was a member of 248sqdn, flying Mosquito's. He was with the same squadron when he died in 1947. Alan.
