Does anyone have any info about my father's flying during WW 11. I know he flew night fighters out of RAF Hendon, he was also a Lancaster Pilot and then a test Pilot. Any other info?

Hi Chris,

I don't have anything but don't be discouraged by that, by posting in public forums such as this one the odds increase that you will find some information. Have you tried obtaining his service records?

Matt

Hi,
Searching the LG brings up 42837 Alec Hindley AFC, who was under the "General Duties" section of the RAF, with a number of references for promotions from 1939-47, but no squadrons mentioned. Ther is however, no mention of the second initial "R" in the name.

Thank you for your reply. This is my father, his initial R seems not to have been used in nearly all the info I have.

Hi Chris,

with your fathers connection at Hendon, have you tried contacting them?
