This aircraft took off at East Moor at 16:56, and was shot down by navy flak during a mine laying mission to the "Nectarine" area, off the Fresian Islands. The aircraft crashed at 18:36 UK time. I have seen the crash location reported as " into the Waddenzee off Roptazijl".
The complete crew was: F/O I. Johnson RNZAF KIA Pilot Sgt C. Risingham RAF KIA Navigator P/O I. Stirton RAF KIA Bomb Aimer Sgt A. Dymick RAF KIA Wireless Op Sgt J. Stuart RAF KIA Rear Gunner
The illusive search continues... as it was the squadrons maiden mission it seems as though the tradition of photographing crew or their aircraft hadnt taken hold yet.
They would never have imagined at the time just how important a tradition this would become... and what clues it would provide for generations to come.
For now our search continues...
Lest we forget.

Greg's 429 website was instrumental in us begining our search - a wealth of info!!!
Would you believe we've now actually managed to get hold of small piece of the only remaining part of their aircraft. What a truly magical piece of her family history...
Alas, a photo still eludes us, but onwards and upwards.
