Lancaster crash at Laumersheim - 16./17. April 1943
Permalink

During the night of 16./17.1943 the Lancaster crashed into a field outside of Laumersheim.

The crew is still listed as missing.

Last year we located the wreckage and will start to recover the remains of the aircraft and the crew.

Can somebody help us getting in touch with familymembers of the crew?

Hallo Uwe,

Need a bit more information about the plane. Many Lancasters were shot down. Might it be the Lancaster ED427?

Kind Regards

Astrid

Found this site after reading Daily Mail Saturday September 29, 2012.

Uwe Benkel quoted extensively!

Large article by Guy Walters, interesting reading.

Should I copy this article to the site?
