Hi,
I'am posting this for information on the above mentioned Units in the
Royal Air Force during the War
There seems to be very little information available in the main stream of Publications
on this Subject.
As in my last post,You very Kindly pointed out two Units of my late Uncle's service with 23 OTU & 1660HC, I've found in extremely difficult to find any Data other that the Location of the Unit.
Can you please Advise me and point me in the right Direction to,If there is any source
or Records of these Units.
Thanks
nf

W R Chorley has two book of stats that cover operational losses / incidents, etc. are ........

RAF Bomber Command Losses Volume 7, Operational Training Units, OTC's,
ISBN 1 85780 132 6 ..........................

RAF Bomber Command Losses Volume 8, Heavy Converation Units, HCU's,
ISBN 1 85780 156 3 .........................

they include crew listings, aircraft type and a brief description of the incident.

Note -1   I was shocked at the amount of crew losses in both of these units. The number of crews lost before they even were posted at a squadron is staggering.

Note -2   These volumes will only list a person and or crew, who were involved in a accident / incident.

John

Hi,
There's always the ORB's for the two units, but these very rarely show names of personnel unless involved in an operation alongside BC squadrons.
Forgot to mention that, if you want scans of the pages from the 57sqdn ORB, let me know your email address, and i'll forward them on.
Alan.
