I understand my Uncle was in the RAF during World War II. He never spoke about his experiences, so all I have is a name, nationality, dob. My question is: how can I find out about my Uncle's service.

First thing is to apply for a copy of his Service Record at

RAF DPA SAR Section

Room 220

Trenchard Hall

RAF Cranwell

Sleaford

Lincs NG34 8AB.    tel...01400 26 1201. extensions 8172, 8173, 8175.

Could you also let  us have your uncles name etc, as members may be able to help.

Alan

AW,

much obliged for your response, which is very helpful. I appreciate your offer, however I would like to progress through official channels, my reticence no doubt on account of my Irish nationality. I am immensely proud of my Uncle's service as I write on this Remembrance Day from Canada (a national holiday).

Stike hard. Strike sure.

ML.
