I am Searching for wartime details of my father who I never knew.He was  Flt Sgt Joseph Stanley Higgin ( known as Stan Higgin) from 102 Squadron 1942 . Flight engineer. Stationed at  Dalton and Topcliffe. Halifax bomber  Aircraft no W1142DY-A .  Shot down 26/27 July 1942 off German coast.   POW Camp 344, Lamsdorf. PoW No.42806.

I would be grateful to hear from anyone who knew him or knew of him and any memories first or second hand. Unfortunately Stan died in 2007 before I could meet him. Many thanks

Thank you. I have posted a message. I had gleaned a lot of information from this site a week or so ago. My father's name wasn't on the list of squadron members, although details of his lost Halifax and crew (including him) were there.
